CICO:
We would like to begin sending the ENTIRE form home with students so that parents can see WHERE the points are lost in order to give them a better idea of when behaviors are occurring etc. We did this year ago, and after seeing another school try it another way we went for it. But feedback from parents is making us wonder if we should go back to our old ways ;)
What this means for GREETERS:
When you check out with your CICO student, we will need you to record the scores on a purple "data recording sheet" that I will provide for each of you. Since NextPath requires me to write in the numbers for Kind, Safe and Responsible separately (in the old days with SWIS, we could just write a 6 if the student got all their points) so you'll see a spot for each of those. I know this is a pain, but if it's easier you can just write in the 1's and 0's and if it's blank I can assume it was a 2. I will put a few of these in your mailbox when I get them from printing. Extras will be in the cupboard above where the cutting board is.
What this means for CLASSROOM TEACHERS/SPECIALISTS:
With the forms going home, this means we need to be professional and succinct with any notes or comments we write on the sheet regarding unexpected behaviors. Simply writing "blurting" or "argument with peer" or something objective like that helps parents understand what the behavior looked like. So keep it short and as "matter-of-fact" as you can.
POSITIVE comments, on the other hand... feel free to liberally apply! :)

If you haven't seen the SWIS updates, please read the update from PBISapps. (https://www.pbisapps.org/ articles/updates-and-details- to-prep-you-for-swis-changes- coming-march-22) These apps will automatically take effect for minors but we will need to have a larger discussion regarding Skyward (Majors).
There is also a shift in the language of the referral categories. Information is here (https://webflowfilesprod. blob.core.windows.net/pub/pdf/ SWIS%20Referral%20Definitions. pdf). As you know, the more we can tighten up the big Ds (Disrespect, Defiance, and Disruption), the better we're able to respond in our actions.
I will need to check in with your PBIS team for our yearly check-in (per SWIS expectations) this spring. Please let me know of your upcoming meetings and we can get somethings scheduled on the calendar.
